About the Party Helpers
What can my Party Helper do?
Your Party Helper can help you set up, serve up and clean up your gathering so you can be a guest at your own party. The only thing Party Helpers cannot do is bartend. They are prevented from doing so by applicable law, so please don’t ask them to do so! If you're interested in bartending services, check out our preferred vendor list right over here. How many Party Helpers should I hire for my party?
Our Party Helper guidelines are below. Your needs may vary depending on the complexity of your food and set up. However, these guidelines should provide a good start to help you determine your party needs.
Set up, Clear up and Clean up: 1 Party Helper per 10 guests
Greet and Escort Guests: 1 Party Helper per 35 guests
Pass Appetizers: 1 Party Helper per 25 guests
Buffet Table Attendant: 1 Party Helper per buffet station
Assist with Finishing Food: 1 Party Helper per 10 guests
Plate and Serve Food: 1 Party Helper per 10 guests
Bartend: 1 Bartender (look for KrooMembers with a bartender badge!) per 25 guests
How do I communicate with my Party Helper?
To ask a Party Helper a question, please email us at support@partykroo.com. We will gladly put you in touch with your Party Helper.
What will my Party Helper wear?
When you are planning your party on the PartyKroo platform, you will be asked to select your Party Helper's attire. You may request that your Party Helper wear black pants, black shirt and black shoes OR black pants, white shirt and black shoes.
How can I request a Party Helper who helped me with a prior gathering?
It’s simple! Your dashboard includes the details of all your prior orders, so you can quickly find your favorite Party Helper's name and profile. When you are booking your gathering just scroll through the available Party Helpers to see if your favorite guy or gal is free to work your party. However, our Party Helpers are independent contractors and set their own schedules so unfortunately we can’t guarantee they will be available.
How Do I Hire A Bartender?
KrooMembers available for bartending have a "Verified Bartender" Badge on their profile. These bartenders have active bartender certifications
Have the Party Helpers in the PartyKroo network all been background checked?
No. We encourage all of our Party Helpers to get background checks, but not all Party Helpers have one. You can easily tell if a Party Helper has been background checked. Just look for the Background Verified badge on the Party Helper's profile. For more information regarding Party Helper background checks, see “Information regarding Background Checks” below.

How much time in advance do I need to place my order?
We’re planners like you so we suggest that you book your Party Helpers at least 24 hours before your gathering. If you book a Party Helper within 48 hours of your gathering, your order is non-refundable.
Can I change or cancel an order once placed?
Yes. If you only need to add one or more additional Party Helpers, you can keep your current order and create a new order for the additional Party Helpers you need. If you need to adjust the time, date, location or other details in an existing order, please contact customer service at 720.726.3127 or support@partykroo.com. To cancel an order, go to your dashboard and push the "Cancel" button. Remember, if you change or cancel your order 48 hours or less prior to your gathering, no refund will be issued.

Do I need to tip my Party Helper?
While tipping is not required, we encourage our hosts to recognize and reward good service when they receive it! Please make sure and have cash on hand for any tip you may want to give your Party Helper. We are not currently able to allow for tips on line (but are working on it).

I'm a Party Helper
Can I cancel my account?
You certainly can! The great thing about working with PartyKroo is you are your own boss. Cancelling your account will delete all your profile information, so before you cancel, you may want to consider simply updating your calendar to show you as “unavailable” for as long or short of a time that feels comfortable to you. This way, you won’t show up on browse results, but your information will remain in our network in case you decide you want to take on some gatherings in the future. If you are absolutely certain that you want to cancel your account indefinitely, and don’t mind losing your profile information, please email us at support@partykroo.com or call us at 720.726.3127 and we will assist you with the removal of your account.
What if I need to change my schedule?
Not to worry! You can change and update your schedule in your dashboard. But beware, once you have booked a gathering you are required to work it.
How should I determine how to set my hourly rate?
As an independent contractor, what you set as your hourly rate is completely up to you! Keep in mind that a small PartyKroo commission and payment processing fee will be deducted from your hourly rate.
I'm having trouble uploading my photo to my profile, can you help?
Check the size of the photo you are uploading and make sure it is 3.5MB or less. For instructions on how to save a higher-resolution photo to a lower-photo resolution photo, click here.
What if a host cancels a gathering I'm scheduled to work less than 48 hours before the gathering?
Not to worry! We’re sticklers for planning, so if a host cancels less than 48 hours before the gathering start time, the host is still required to pay for the time that you reserved for the gathering and you will be compensated for the time you had reserved.
What if I have an emergency and am not able to work a gathering that I already confirmed?
If you are unable to work a gathering that you have already confirmed, please notify customer service immediately at 720.726.3127. Remember, once you have confirmed a gathering it is extremely important that you only cancel in an emergency situation.
Does PartyKroo offer background checks?
Yes, we have found that hosts often prefer Party Helpers who have been background checked, so we have partnered with Sterling Backcheck to offer background checks to our registered Party Helpers. Click here to access the PartyKroo portal for Sterling Backcheck if you are interested in being background checked. You may also initiate a background check at any time by visiting your dashboard. A “background verified” badge indicates that you have completed and successfully passed a background check with Sterling Backcheck. What is a "background verified" badge and how do I get one?
A “background verified” badge indicates that you have completed and successfully passed a background check with Sterling Backcheck. If you would like to get a “background verified” badge on your profile you must complete the background check process by visiting the PartyKroo portal for Sterling Backcheck. You may also initiate a background check at any time by visiting your dashboard.
Does PartyKroo require all of its Party Helpers to get background checked?
No. We certainly encourage all of our Party Helpers to get background checks, but background checks are optional and not all of our Party Helpers have had one. Party Helpers who successfully pass a background check within the last year will have a “background verified” badge on their PartyKroo profile.
Who pays for the Party Helper background checks?
Any Party Helper who elects to be background checked will be required to cover the cost of their own background check from Sterling Backcheck. Prices vary by location and are non-refundable.
How much does a background check from Sterling Backcheck cost?
The current base price for a background check is $30.34. If you have lived in New York, Maine, Vermont or Puerto Rico in the past 7 years you will be charged more due to state-level requirements.
How long does it take to get a "background verified" badge after I request my background check?
The background check process varies, but generally takes a week. Once the process is completed, you will receive your "background verified" badge on your profile in 2-3 business days if you have successfully passed.
When do background checks expire?
Party Helpers who successfully pass a background check will have a “background verified” badge on their PartyKroo profile. The badge will indicate the date upon which the background check was run and will be valid for 1 calendar year from that date. Upon expiration, the badge will be removed from the Party Helper's profile.
If I am a host, can I run a background check on a Party Helper that does not have a background verified badge?
No. Hosts may not run background checks on Party Helpers at this time.
If I am a Party Helper and my background check has expired, what do I do?
If your background verified badge is about to expire or has expired, you may renew your background check through Sterling Backcheck. You can initiate this process by going to your dashboard.
If I am a Party Helper and I have already completed a background check can I use it for PartyKroo?
If you have already done a background check with Sterling Backcheck within the past year you may send it to us and we will review it. If it meets our criteria, we will add a "background verified" badge to your profile. We do not accept background checks from companies other than Sterling Backcheck.
What does a background check include?
The background check includes a social security trace, a county criminal search and a sex offender search. Some states require a statewide search instead of a county search.
If something negative comes up on my background check can I be removed from the PartyKroo website?
If something negative were to come up in your background check, PartyKroo would take steps to investigate the issue and notify you of any action that may be taken. You will never be immediately removed from the PartyKroo website. PartyKroo adheres strictly to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) and will take all measures necessary to remain compliant with laws and policies governing background checks. You are encouraged to carefully read the information provided about your rights under the FCRA, and the privacy and security of the information you provide.
What criteria does PartyKroo use to determine if a Party Helper has successfully passed a background check?
If a Party Helper has had any of the following offenses in the past 7 years, PartyKroo will not issue a “background verified” badge to that Party Helper:
- A violent crime
- A felony
- An illegal drug-related offense
- A sexual offense
- Certain theft of property damage offenses
Will PartyKroo share the details of my background check with anyone?
No. We will not share the details of your background check with anyone. We will only indicate if you have passed a background check by adding the "background verified" badge to your profile.
If I am a Party Helper and am having trouble processing my background check through Sterling Backcheck who should I contact?
You should contact Sterling Backcheck directly at 720.726.3127. They will be able to troubleshoot any issues you are having.
